Ira Glass Interview

Posted by: David Maxon on November 2, 2007 11:48 PM | Comments (2)

Today This American Life host Ira Glass was nice enough to sit down with me to talk about starting out in radio, his vegetarian identity, the excitement of Third Coast and being around people who like the same thing you do. Mr. Glass compares NPR staple shows to big dignified limousines and nearly scares me to death by asking if I was getting 'levels' during the interview (whether the recorder was actually recording).

Comments on This Entry:

As a person who can trace my roots back to the Irish family "Quirk" I take exception to Mr. Glass's characterization of "quirkiness" as if it were a bad thing.
With that said, I am pleased to see that Jerry Springer and Veggie Burgers have finally found a common ground -- through Radio of all things.
I like hearing the "unpolished" Ira Glass.

Bill-

Believe it or not my father's middle name is Quirk. That is my Irish family name as well. I almost brought that up but it seemed beside the point.

David

P.S. - My middle name is Turner. Weird.
